Bella Friar
Assistant Ecologist
Bella is an assistant ecologist and has worked with the Ecology Co-op since July 2023. She has worked on a variety of projects and protected species and has experience assisting on Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, bat scopings and three seasons of bat emergence surveys, as well as experience acting as an Ecological Clerk of Works.
Before joining The Ecology Co-op Bella spent 11 months with The Wildlife Trust, assisting in the habitat management on some of their Kent reserves alongside the completion of her degree.
Outside of work Bella enjoys spending time with her horses, as well as travelling in her self-converted off grid campervan.
Key Experience:
Survey experience for bats, dormouse, reptiles, newts and badgers
Ecological Clerk of Works for reptiles
Experience in camera traps and badger surveys
QGIS mapping for UKHab and BNG
Experience writing a variety of reports including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Bat Scopings and Ecological Impact Assessments
